| The
delightful Magnolia Cottages are located in the grounds of a 16th Century
Manor House and within walking distance of the long Atlantic beaches.
Quinta
da Boa Viagem is situated in a village approximatley 6 kilometres from
the beautiful, old sailing port of Viana do Castelo in the Minho Region
of Portugal.
His family still own the house and will be your amiable hosts. The
2 cottages are situated in the former estate buildings, and have been converted
to a very high standard. They are tastefully furnished and are very comfortable. 2 twin bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms. An extra bed or a cot is available on request (supplement payable). Spacious sitting room with sofa, chairs and a fitted kitchenette with microwave and fridge. Dining table for 4 persons. The
cottage has central heating and a heated towel rail in the bathrooms.
Double bedroom and twin bedroom both with ensuite bathroom. An extra bed is available on request (supplement payable). Spacious sitting room with sofas and fireplace. Fitted kitchenette with microwave and fridge. Dining table for 4 persons There is a swimming pool in the grounds of the property for the use of all the guests. Alternatively, there are natural pools in the river that runs past the house. A small
5 a side football area is available and also a children's play area to
make the younger members stay a very special one.
The house stands on the lower slopes of Santa Luzia mountain and forms an ideal base for those who enjoy walking. Although, the house and gardens are really best enjoyed with a book and a glass of wine, sitting in the shade of a tree to the sound of running water from the nearby river. From the gardens (or even from the swimming pool) guests may admire the enchanting view of the sea stretching away to the horizon. "Quinta da Boa Viagem" also has one bedroom or three bedroom cottages with either twin beds or double beds. All cottages have kitchenette, sitting room and most rooms have ensuite bathrooms. In every cottage (except Magnolia No.1) there is an open fire for the family to gather round during a winter visit. |

| Very charming place with history. Bedrooms and living room very nice and stilish. Owner very kind. Place with atmosphere. Very nice garden but it requres more time and attention and money of course. Probably there is need for more money from European Union to restore it. But in generally I may say only the best.Iveta |

| We booked not really knowing what to expect of a 'communal' property & this place ended up being our most favourite accommodation on our 2 week stay in Portugal. The old renovated cottage with double ensuite suited the two families perfectly. Jose was the perfect host and kindly showed us around the grounds of the manor. We felt so at home there. looking over the terrace at breakfast was another treat. The manor had close access to beaches ,supermarket and a few restaurants if you had a car. We truly enjoyed the local walks and those further afield suggested by Jose. The most tricky issue was finding the house in the first place, with our gps which sent us on an impossible access route- be sure to get instructions and young Or old,you will have the most enjoyable stay, |
