Quinta da Boa Viagem is situated in a village approximatley 6 kilometres from the beautiful, old sailing port of Viana do Castelo in the Minho Region of Portugal.

The well known Portuguese discoverer Goncalo Ferreira de Villas Boas built a chapel, located adjacent to the property, which belongs to the "Quinta". It was dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Boa Viagem (Our Lady of the Good Journey) to protect him during his travels around the world.

His family still own the house and will be your amiable hosts.

The 2 cottages are situated in the former estate buildings, and have been converted to a very high standard. They are tastefully furnished and are very comfortable.
Wireless internet is available at Quinta da Boa Viagem.
Each cottage has two ensuite bedrooms and feature similar facilities.

Magnolia Cottage 1

2 twin bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms.  An extra bed or a cot is available on request (supplement payable).

Spacious sitting room with sofa, chairs and a fitted kitchenette with microwave and fridge.

Dining table for 4 persons.

The cottage has central heating and a heated towel rail in the bathrooms.

Magnolia Cottage 2

Double bedroom and twin bedroom both with ensuite bathroom. An extra bed is available on request (supplement payable).

Spacious sitting room with sofas and fireplace. Fitted kitchenette with microwave and fridge.

Dining table for 4 persons

There is a swimming pool in the grounds of the property for the use of all the guests. Alternatively, there are natural pools in the river that runs past the house.

A small 5 a side football area is available and also a children's play area to make the younger members stay a very special one.

All facilities are shared between the guests staying at the property.

The house stands on the lower slopes of Santa Luzia mountain and forms an ideal base for those who enjoy walking. Although, the house and gardens are really best enjoyed with a book and a glass of wine, sitting in the shade of a tree to the sound of running water from the nearby river.

From the gardens (or even from the swimming pool) guests may admire the enchanting view of the sea stretching away to the horizon.

"Quinta da Boa Viagem" also has one bedroom or three bedroom cottages with either twin beds or double beds.

All cottages have kitchenette, sitting room and most rooms have ensuite bathrooms. In every cottage (except Magnolia No.1) there is an open fire for the family to gather round during a winter visit.
