The
Beiras region is to the south of the Douro river and served by the international airports at Porto (Oporto) and Lisbon .
The coast of the Beiras region has long sandy Atlantic beaches with inland salt water lagoons around Aveiro. Inland it is mountainous with many old towns and villages where the lifestyle has changed little over the centuries. Lousa is near to Coimbra which is an old university town. Viseu is inland in an area of vineyards for the excellent wines of Portugal Prices of the cottages are per day and there is a minimum let of three days All cottages have a kitchenette and there is a communal swimming pool |
